Wirecloth Types

There are a vast array of wirecloth types available to the user today. Each provides a number of attributes which make them best suited to certain applications and, of course, less well suited to others.

Before reviewing each type, take two minutes to remind yourself of the definitions used in describing wirecloth attributes by visiting our Glossary of Terms on the left.

The main types of wirecloth are also listed in the panel to the left. There you will find an explanation of the wirecloth basic structure, its weave pattern and typical applications for each. Also listed is a table of the most common specifications for each weave type.

A variety of alloys can be used to produce the various wirecloth specifications and some of their physical and chemical properties are tabulated for information.
